Simply put, the Hope House is a “compassion” endeavor. And, compassion is the sincere desire to understand and to feel what it is like to live inside somebody else’s skin, and then to respond to the need at hand. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too. In this way, we are attempting to live out God’s command “to love our neighbor” by transforming the white house on our property into a Hope House for unwed mothers.
We are partnering with Young Lives and the Midland Pregnancy Resource Center ("PRC") in this endeavor. We provide free housing for a year for an unwed mother and work with Young Lives and the PRC in helping her (and future women) learn valuable life skills so that she can function well in our society and raise her child appropriately.
We also hope that all of the unwed mothers who pass through the Hope House will embrace God after experiencing God’s grace and love and mercy through the people of Midland Nazarene. All funds given to the Hope House will be used to maintain it.
